“When will Arcane realize that it’ll take more than his gang of Finals to capture me?”
Swamp Thing hates Finals!

Here’s the pile of films I’ve watched throughout the quarter for my film noir class.
Order from most awesome to lamest:
Double Indemnity: My favorite noir film that I have seen so far. Great story with the ultimate femme fatale.
Body Heat: Postmodern remake of Double Indemnity. Super smart and a great celebration of the genre.
Shadow of a Doubt: Credited as Alfred Hitchcock’s favorite film. Loved it in comparison to older horror and German Expressionist films.
L.A. Confidential: Just saw this movie for the first time last week. I’ve heard great things about the book and I really enjoyed the film. Guy Pearce and Russell Crowe are such badasses.
Chinatown: I did end up enjoying this film more the 2nd and 3rd time around. Faye Dunaway is always amazing and who doesn’t like Jack Nicholson? After seeing it in context to the noir genre I really came to appreciate this film.
The Maltese Falcon: If you want guys to like you, just carry around Chinatown and The Maltese Falcon. No joke.
Touch of Evil: I don’t care what you say, Charlton Heston with a fake tan and a moustache is just not believable as a Mexican cop.
Blue Velvet: I know a lot of people love this movie, but I just don’t see it. Strange things happening in the suburbs.. big deal. I like neo-noir, but I could do without the horrible robotic robin and that chick from Jurassic Park. If I ever hear the song Blue Velvet again I will punch a baby in the face.
Out of the Past: I enjoyed the first half of this film, but I found the second half way too confusing. Check it out if you’re a noir snob, otherwise I’d say check out the first half of this list.
